RC Plane Plans Yard Ace RC Build From South Africa!

Check out Rory Crawford's superb build of an RC Plane Plans Yard Ace

Rory Crawford hails from Cape Town, South Africa and very nicely sent along these pictures of his Yard Ace build. This is one of Rory's first balsa models, after several foamies. Let Rory fill in the details:

"About the Yard Ace, thanks a million for the plans. I've only been in the hobby for about 18 months now, and had only flown foamies until the Yard Ace. The Yard Ace was my first scratch build and I really loved every second of it. Cape Town tends to be quite windy, so finding a calm day to fly is difficult and the Yard Ace has had three 'unplanned arrivals' to date. The beauty of balsa though, is about an hour of work later and she is as good as new - well almost!

The only alterations I made was after a few test flights: gave the motor 2 degree's of right thrust and increased the surface area of the rudder - found this makes very slow flying a little easier."
